Moorfields appointed receivers over Retail Portfolio

Property specialists Arron Kendall and Simon Thomas of restructuring and insolvency firm, Moorfields have been appointed joint receivers over 6 retail units.

The retail units are situated in various locations throughout the UK, with 3 fully let to multiple tenants and 3 partially let.

The joint receivers are currently negotiating re-gears and new lets with the aim of decreasing voids and increasing income prior to sale.

Arron Kendall, Joint Receiver said “Retailers are continuing to face burden with higher costs linked to the living wage, uncertainty surrounding the EU and changing consumer demands. Rising employment costs and a potential reform of business rates should mean that the next 12 months will see the retail industry undergo rapid changes.”
